Spare surveillance hdd. Put in desktop or sell?

Xyes

So I came across a spare 2TB Western Digital Purple HDD that was barely used.  Should I just chuck it into my machine or is it a better idea to sell it?  In my system I would most likely use it as plain jane storage.

Do you need the extra 2TB of storage? If so, put it in dere else may as well sell it :)

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

I always enjoy more storage.  I just wasn't sure if I'd run into any problems or quirks from it being made for surveillance.

Nope, it will store data fine

the purple just means it's optimized around the constant read/write workload surveillance systems have
