so what? he won't get good frames with his 6300 even with his GTX 780

That's not the point. Everyone doesn't only play Counter Strike. 780 may be overkill on old source games at 1080p, but in modern games... C'mon. I can't imagine what games you're playing.

I play a lot of games, very demanding ones too, you can't center your entire build on that one arbitrary games that doesn't run properly because it's designed to bring graphics cards to it's knees.

so, the GTX 770 would be a better option as I have the GTX 680 and I max all my games perfectly fine, even BF4 which is a extremely pretty game that runs ultra everything 4x MSAA and HBAO perfectly fine at 60FPS without the optimized drivers.

he should be fine.

I apologize. I forget people still play at 60fps. And I don't even like Crysis 3.

you used sarcasm?

damn now I totally have to actual argument -__-

BF4 is unoptimized so I can't get any higher than 60FPS at the moment, I have ALL my games run at least 80FPS or above.

Post quality low, AA 2x, and post FX off. Post quality may not matter with post fx off, but... IT makes the game look better, especially the water. Post tends to add a blur to soften the lines. Game is clearer when disabled. I get 90fps with those settings. And it's still not enough.

Mildly sarcastic, I just get uprooted when people say 780 is overkill. I wish for the money I spent.

my point being is the GTX 680 is plenty, I doubt you will have to go down to medium in most games in the future, even so you shouldn't think too much in the future anyways.

not everyone needs to play at more than 60fps on every game there's no need to be sarcastic about it personally I regret buying a 144hz monitor since the colors are pretty bland and past 50fps everything seems smooth to me and I'd rather the game look better

780 is overkill for 1080p, the 290 performs just fine in pretty much all games at 1080p and almost as good as the 780 for way cheaper.

Every 60 seconds in Africa...

A minute passes.

I don't need any storage or a case

So you have them already. What do you have?

Wow. Taking another look.... Not many sub $1000 builds contain a GTX 780.

Not that hard to do. It usually takes skimping like no ssd for those who aren't that used to budget building.

Looks good!

But to be honest I was planning to take the 780 out of the build a bit later and put it in my i7 build once I save up more.

Sounds like a bad idea.

More cuda cores, and I won't have to upgrade it in a year(maybe 2)

A 780 should easily last 3 years before you'd want to upgrade.

I don't regret getting the 144hz, but it sucks that a 780 can't max out my refresh at 1080p. When my second card comes in, more than likely, I will stick with 1080p. High refresh is the future. At a time when gaming graphics are hitting a wall, true to life motion will bridge the gap until mo-cap is properly applied. Then it's almost necessary to have more fluid motion. We have seen this all year with graphics and physics becoming more and more "eerily" realistic in these tech demos. And let's not forget Oculus, higher refresh can help alleviate the side effects some users are experiencing....maybe.
