PC Build Question (Revised)? Please Read Fully

are these all compatible? Also, is there anything weird when it comes to using a Kraby Lake CPU's along with this motherboard? Please tell me as much as you can. Also the ram is 3000 MHZ and I think the motherboard supports it.

Use pcpartpicker.com it tells you of any possible compatibility issues.

That build is fine, assuming the ram is ddr4.

You don't really need a Z board with a non-k chip, but it'll hold higher resale value so is worth it in most cases.

What's the specific psu model?

No need for Z170 with a locked i5, dont get a 960, look at the 1050ti/1060/480 instead. Budget and location?

A Kabylake CPU on that board may require a BIOS update before it will work. This will likely require a Skylake CPU to do it.

the GPU is pretty old, and you can definitely get better value in an RX 470 or RX 480.

The motherboard will work, but there's a chance that it will need a BIOS update before working with kaby lake CPUs.

Z-series board is not needed. Resale value won't make up for the difference in price today. (you will pay $50 extra for a Z motherboard today, and maybe get $20 more when you resell) @RKRiley

Get a B250 board

100-series chipset on 7th gen cpu, make sure the shipped BIOS is compatible with kaby lake. otherwise you'll need a Skylake chip to update.

Where do you live? there's almost always a cheaper B250 board than Z170.

Z170 is cheaper than B150/H170? You could buy a unlocked i5 to overclock, but you would also need a cooler, depends on your budget.

OK.

keep in mind that if it's a 2GB 960 it's not going to be able to run new games at 60FPS at 1080p, even on low/medium settings.

if you find you need more power, RX470 is a great option.

ITS FREE. AND ITS 4GB. STOP ASKING ABOUT THE 960. I'm only concerned with the bios update that i might need to do and the cpu itself.

3000Mhz RAM is usually unneeded.

but yeah, it usually supports DDR4 3000

"usually" is not the answer I am looking for. and leave me alone, it's my choice. It's not for gaming, the PC is for multitasking.

you need to install a skylake CPU, but the BIOS on a USB stick, update from the USB stick, remove the skylake CPU, and then install the kaby lake CPU
