So my RX 460 is getting nearly as hot as an RX 480? Dang that's disappointing I think.

3 degrees off, you are good

Spoiler

nitro 460 temps

I'm using my Sapphire Nitro RX 460 to play Planetside 2 (I need to play on custom settings to compromise to get satisfying framerates) and after playing for an hour my temperatures maxed out at 72 degrees Celsius. My GPU is at default settings.

I'm just curious because for an RX 460 I feel this card has a pretty beefy looking cooler. I've seen models of RX 460 that have smaller looking coolers and I'm not sure how hot those get, although not all RX 460 have a 6 pin power connector like mine uses.

Okay. Any advice for GPU cooling solutions in the future? In the future I think I may go with "nano" form factor GPU or low profile GPU as I start moving towards SFF solutions and IDK what the best coolers for those are.

Custom water loop? I have no idea about cooling gpu, though I am thinking of one as my 480 reaches constantly 83 under load

If you're under 90C, you're fine. The problem is in your head, not in your PC.

Not really true.  The "under 90C" rule is for stress testing, not normal usage.  You don't want it going over 80C normally.

Make sure to quote or tag me (@JoostinOnline) or I won't see your response!
