help needed laptop ram upgrade gone wrong?

a freiend of mine asked me to upgrade his ram on his laptop so I checked the user manual for it and found other that it supports 8gb ram and the physical process of the installation was without any problems(I mean it was just unscrew 2 screws and change the ram duh...) but since thearly change in can't get the windows running ithe start booting and than it pops a blue screen with a error message.... the laptop is a HP G62-b11EK ... I'm not sure if I'm in the right place of the forum here but any help would be appreciated

Try researching what the error message means. Double check the RAM is compatible.

so I get the blue screen withhas the message windows unable to boot need to restart but after the restar it gets stuck on the screen were it says getting ready for automatic repair or something like that  I've run memory diagnostic on it and it recognises ram of 8 GB in it.

it has only 1 slot if you mean that by matching ram

Hmm.  At least with my laptop, it can only be low voltage 1600MHz DDR3 RAM.

Make sure stuff like that is right.  Maybe it's something like that.

Make sure you have the correct type of RAM. Like in DDR3, the frequency and other things should match. Also, see if it supports DDR3L or normal DDR3.

I found the problem I didn'the look at the frequency of the ram he bought he needs ddr3 up to 1066MHz but the guy at the store gave him ddr3l 1600 MHz
