What is the MAX temperature of my cpu i3 540? I wanted to ask this since I had seen on Intel's website that the maximum temperature is 75-ish degree centigrade but on different programs like CoreTemp, MSI Afterburner, And Intel CPU Diagnostics software tells me that it is 105 degree centigrade. Whom should I trust? Also, to mention, It is on stock cooler.

Both of those numbers seem unrealistic. I would say around 90c, but the 105c seems more likley

105c is the 'TJMAX' - the highest temperature the CPU will go before pushing voltage into 2 lines (i've forgotten the name) which halts the system.

Safe running temperature to preserve the already decreasing life of the CPU would be around 85c.

idk

They always give some leeway for max temps. It's sorta like how you wouldnt put the maximum load capacity of a plane at the absolute max it can actually carry because then if something abnormal happens the plane crashes. Same thing here but instead it would result in the cpu breaking.
