Hey LTT. Is it my PC or something? I can run Tomb Raider (2013), Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and Bioshock Infinite all at highest settings, with a silky smooth 60fps at 1080p. But I struggle at games like Borderlands 2, Grim Dawn, and even Batman Arkham City GOTY all at medium-high settings. I have a RX 480 4gb and a10 5800k with 8gb of RAM. any help would be appreciated. cheers :)

edit: I have windows 10 with directx 12 btw

It's probably a CPU bottleneck.

check CPU usage while gaming.

okay. what do I do after I find results? do I need to change my CPU?

if CPU usage is at 100% (or a single core is maxing out at 100%), then yes, upgrade.

otherwise, the bottleneck is elsewhere.

Borderlands 2 to this day runs like absolute garbage with PhysX on High even on Nvidia cards, and probably no matter the setting on AMD cards. Make sure PhysX is off or at least as close as you can get.

Arkham City is another PhysX-y game. Again, make sure it's down or off. I also don't know how relevant this is anymore, but I remember that game having quite a bit of trouble on my system in DirectX 11 mode, so switching it back to DX9 might be another thing to try.

I have an AMD card and never even once had physX on any game since

edit: what do I do to get a consistent 60fps on grim dawn with medium-high settings?
