GeForce 1080ti strix

Hello guys, I have a quick question.

 

I own a 4770k i7 and I want to upgrade my GPU from a 780ti to a GeForce 1080ti strix.

do I need to upgrade my CPU? I hear alot of things about bottleneck these days and I have no clue about that.

i'd say that anything abve a gtx1070 is probably overkill for 1080p, and at higher resolutions, for the odd case you *do* encounter a cpu bottleneck, chances are it'll be way beyond monitor refresh rate either way, at which point it's a case of "add more eyecandy" to get rid of the cpu neck

What games and resolution do you find your 780Ti struggles in?

Short Answer:No

Long Answer: No, probably. The 4770k is still a pretty good CPU. Unless you want really high frame rates at lower resolutions like 1080p. If you go higher resolution the CPU becomes less and less important. Still maybe if for some reason you don't feel like it is up to the task, you could OC it a little. Again you should be more than fine for 99% of games.

Sorry, forgot to mention I will be gaming om 4K resolution.

True. If anything the GPU will max out before the CPU lol
