Hi all. Finally going to upgrade my poor 580s, and I have a $200 budget for a new GPU. I'm thinking RX 480, and I'm not opposed to buying used hardware. Suggestions?

CPU: INTEL Core i7 4790k @ 4.7Ghz - Cooling: NZXT Kraken X61 - Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X SLI - RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ares 2400mhz - GPU: AMD Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury 4G - Case: Phanteks P350X - PSU: EVGA 750GQ - Storage: WD Black 1TB - Fans: 2x Noctua NF-P14s (Push) / 2x Corsair AF140 (Pull) / 3x Corsair AF120 (Exhaust) - Keyboard: Corsair K70 Cherry MX Red - Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.

Ok then. Get the 8GB rx480 if you can find it at $200, if not the 4GB variant will also be fine.

Should I be looking for a second hand card or have the 8gb cards dropped that much in price?

Personally I don't like used parts. 8GB rx480 will be cheap when it's on sale.

eh, not so true. The 8350 is fine with a 480, anything past it no but the 8350 believe it or not in a gaming environment is slower than a Pentium G4560 by 5-6 frames in just about every game.

Which isn't true... A 2700k can out perform a G4560. Not to mention that 2700k/2600k is likely to hit 4.3-4.7Ghz

not being rude but im almost positive i said i can equal a STOCK 2600k/2700k. That being said my 8350 is overclocked 25%, so when you see stock 8350 benchmarks, know that is not representative of my chip.

yes, let's compare a overclocked chip to one that can OC. oh, the fun in that

I mean im not trying to say fx is the end all solution to gaming, because its not. I'm just stating about where my chip falls on the intel spectrum. Now should you really want to keep going with this and CONTINUE to make yourself look stupid, be my guest.
