I've got a cheap Chromebook with a broken screen hinge and a broken Chrome OS. I'm thinking of installing linux and turning it into a media PC or the like, but the Chrome recovery tool does not work, and I can't access the BIOS. If I DBAN it, will it behave like a regular wiped PC, or will it not work at all?

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

If all else fails then you could turn the screen from the pc into a second screen to use.

First impressions are important, it sets the stage for respect.

Chromebooks be annoying, upredictable, and also really annoying, so you probably shouldn't dban it (especially b/c there is no way to access a normal BIOS)

Also, by the Chrome recovery tool, do you mean this? (https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/6002417?hl=en)

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Yes. I tried using it and it did not work. Unspecified error.
