I'm buying the computer as a whole and updating the graphics card not building it btw I thought 8x and 16 x were different sizes so it will fit in 8x?

That's PCIE lane. The size is x16. Look up specs of that mobo from EVGA site. It shows that. Besides to have SLI you need to fit a gpu in there right lol?

It will be fine. It's a physical x16 slot that is wired for x8.

You won't see any kind of performance differences with it. It will work just fine.

The person above this is correct.  A PCIe Port can be physcially 16 (for physical support really), but if you look inside you'll see there are only pins in the first half.  PCIe slots can (if they are absent the back block) support any card, so a 16 can fit into a 1x and work, just with very little bandwidth.

Your card will work and be fine.  I'd be more worried about the power supply to be support that videocard and cpu than the 8x wired connection.
