Since it's a non K processor the multiplier is locked, the base clock is the only thing you can change on it. However doing so effects the PCI-E, RAM, and all the other components tied into it since the base clock is what regulates a large portion of the system. This is why it's usually not recommended to do base overclocking in most situations.

Hello Everyone,

I want to ask your suggestion on something

i have following specs for my pc :-

i5 4440 (3.1base and 3.3boost)(Temps without overclock below 50 on 100%load)

MSi z97 g5

8gb ddr3 Corsair Vengance

Cooler Master Sedion 120v plus Liquid Cooler

GTX 1060 6gb

700 watt psu from cooler master.

(Speccy snipped image is provided)

My Cpu is not keeping up with my Gpu so i want to overclock it to gain some performance boost.

For eg in GTA V my cpu is working around 90 to 99 %

                           and gpu around 40 to 60 %

(getting around 65fps 1080p on setting which i should get 75fps)

i think i fulfill all requirements of overclocking other than NON K CPU

Please give me some suggestions............

Thank you for giving my Topic your Time...9_9

You cant it doesn't have an unlocked multiplier. If it doesn't have a k you cant overclock it.

My system-Core i7 6950X, AsusX99 DeluxeII, 128gb Crucial DDR4, Corsair 900D Titan X, Asus Thunderbolt EXII Card,Quadro M4000,Intel X540 network card

there is only 1 way for you to overclock a non k skew, and that is using the base clock method. in your bios there should be a base clock of 100 (normally) change that and the frequency will go up but so will the frequency of your ram, so when you do this change the ram back to near its clock speed if not slightly less. this isnt guaranteed to work

It can only be overclocked through the base which isn't the best since it can throw timings out for the other components in the system

In essence, you might only get about 100mhz out of it. Don't expect any more, Haswell can't really be OCed via BCLK.
