Im looking for an adapter that would effectively turn a computer power cable (not sure of the technical term) into a short extension cord.

 

It would have the male end of the power cord on one side, and a female electrical outlet on the other.

 

Im fairly sure ive seen it before but i cant find it anywhere.

There's no cable like that, and you may as well buy an extension lead.

I have one, they definitely exist.

From your post, it looks like you already figured it out, but the female end is a C13 connector and the male end is C14 from the IEC 60320 standards.
