Okay i just received a Z97-A board, EVGA 500w power Supply, and a 120mm AIO for free... Now I look at the i7-4790k and the prices these things are at are ridiculous like wtf is going on? What is the best route to build something pretty decent with this hardware so far?

Yeah I definitely wanna go 4790k i just thought for how old these are the prices should be a lot lower, I'm still probably gonna bite the bullet and do it, this obviously wont be my main computer and im not even sure what id even use this for but i want to build it still lol. any good uses you guys could think of??? I want to start an small IT business from my house in the near future and was thinking about using this as the main computer for it or something idk i have a few ideas in mind, maybe you'll think of something better i can do lol. I also want to build a small business server for it soon as well :P

and the 4790k would do well for a test bench cpu?

Definitely! It is better than Ryzen and only slightly worse than a 6700K! The 4790K is still an amazing CPU.

Oh great!!! Thanks for the input I actually really appreciate it, so that $200 spent on a Praxis would be worth it then huh?

Yeah I'm sort of all over the place with CPU's the naming scheme and everything makes it very hard to differentiate between the great and not so great but I did know that the 4790k was still a great cpu, just didn't know how competitive it still is!
