Hey, I'm planning to replace my current desktop PC (i7 2600, 16 GB RAM, 1080 GTX, GoodRAM 120 GB SSD + 2 TB HDD).

I play games (right now I have a ultrawide 1440p display, but I'm considering upgrade to 4k or ultrawide 38" 3840*1600).

I'm quite sure I'll buy a 1080Ti when they are available and a second GPU (older AMD? Nvidia 7xx series?) to run things that do not run with Pascal, so dual GPU support is a must.

After buying those GPUs and monitor my budget is around $1700. Any help choosing parts?

64 GB RAM is a must. Programming and gaming are the use cases for this build.

only $1700

dual GPU's? one 1080ti -$700

64gbs of ram? - minimum $500

plus you want a 4k display? - they start @ $300.

$1500 of your budget is already gone. Not ganna happen    :)

Rethink what your goals are. If you stick with your current monitor, that'll save. reduce to 32gbs of ram - Saves $250-$300

I7-7700k@5.1ghz + 1080ti @ 2050mhz + 32gbs Ram + 2TB SSD = CSGO

i7-6700k@4.9ghz + 980ti @ 1501mhz + 16gbs Ram + 1 TB SSD = Backup

i7-3770k@4.8ghz + 680 4gb + 32gbs Ram + 500gb SSD = Retired/Office work
