apple using m.2 B instead of A

My apple mac book air died a little while ago and took it apart and was very happily surprised to see an m.2, I was filled with joy thinking "this will speed up my PC", when all of a sudden I take it out, look at the connection and think "hang on this isn't right". I asked my friend who is also a tech nerd and he said to me "that's a type B connector". what does apple have to make sure people can't re-use anything in their laptops after it broke, It makes me so angry. whats your opinion.

Nah only one company I know sells it and it is stupid expensive. Like $1200 for 1TB. There is ZERO reason to use it over M.2 as it is the same thing but different connector
