GPU Fan help

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Define "use". If you keep it at idle, you might be able to use it. If you OC it and use it 24/7: bad idea.

Because the fan blade is broken, it's not balanced. It's like a vibrator, and it will vibrate at least your GPU. Will most likely vibrate your mobo/other parts, which isn't good. Will most likely make lots of noise when it's spinning.

My advice: if it's really cheap, buy it. Remove the damaged fan, and zip-tie a 80x80 or 120x120 fan to the side. (make sure you remove the broken fan, because it might spin up due to the other/external fan, causing it to act like a generator, pushing a current into your GPU/computer)
