So.... why MacBook Pro 2016 can do that?

It's running a different operating system that offers it..

That's an Apple product which runs OS X not windows.

Oh, okay. And if I put it to sleep, will that spoil my computer or my information in it?

I mean if carrying it around on my backpack

What do you mean spoil???

If your using mechanical drives it won't be the best, especially if your putting it in your backpack. Even when a computer is asleep it keeps mechanical drive spinning, which movement can damage. If it's an SSD you'll be fine.

What if I have both. SSD with OS and HDD with data.

Personally I don't walk around with my laptop on sleep or on with the lid closed.

That would be your decision to make, but it can damage an HDD.

No offense but is it really that hard to press the power button and wait a few seconds?

Some laptops have the option, check in the BIOS, under "Advanced > Built-in Devices" or something similar.

If it's available on your laptop you should see options that might look like "Wake from sleep when lid is opened" or "Power on unit when lid is opened"

Basically, the hardware needs to be able to send a signal for it to work.

Do you know what brand usually offers that? I haven't seen that yet.

I think HPs and Dells almost all have it nowadays, but it might be limited to a few models? the HP Elitebook has it because I remember one of my reps having that problem with his (he didn't want the laptop to open everytime he opened the lid), so I remember there was a BIOS setting for it.

I can't believe I've missed that all these years, I've got an Elitebook 8570 and it's got that option in the bios.

That's awesome lol learn something new every day.
