I want to know whether this network card will work on any hardware?

I have a custom built windows 2012 server.

 

Also, is it a good deal?

 

the only reason I'm thinking it won't is because the supported servers section is confusing

it's a pci based card, should work in anything thats supports pci x4.

Thanks. I didn't see why it wouldn't work as it's hardware. I just wondered, as the supported servers section made me think HP might of restricted it to their hardware

according to the listings, as long as the board supports at least pci x4 and is server 2003 or higher, shouldn't be a problem.

there's no reason it wouldnt work, HP just make it seem that way, because it's not *intended* to be used with anything else.

well, if you need a 4x gigabit NIC it's certainly not a bad deal.
