I would think the i5/960 machine would win, and if not it would be a tiny bit slower in the GPU department

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

I expect it to edge out myself.  The idea of the video is buying used no warranty vs buying new with warranty.  And that you can game without a huge budget!

Used no warranty would almost always be a better deal than new with warranty.

I would highly suggest buying used for CPU, motherboard, ram and maybe gpu. Everything else like SSDs, hdds, case, phreirpials should be new IMO

and now I've derailed the thread.

The purpose of the video is, how much of a difference and is it worth it.

That would depend on the hardware you can find used in your area and the deals and what your budget is.

i feel like I'm answering a question and not having a conversation, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've been requested to make the $500 build and benchmark it.  It seems that Budget Gaming has a huge demand.  Especially in games like WoW where Single threaded performance is key.
