As the title says PG279Q or?????????????? SOMETHING ELSE?

 

I want go 1440p 144Hz+ and was looking at the asus PG279Q monitor, anything else I should be looking at?

Acer do a decent 1440P gsync as well - I have the PG278Q and love it

It's sorta the best you can get on the market. Acer makes a competing monitor but the lack luster base and OSD without a joystick makes it a tad less nice then the PG279Q. I have had the monitor since August and I always long for it when using anything else.

Get the Acer. Me personally, I'm tired of buying into ASUS's overpriced peripherals. While worth the price, I don't care about that stupid LED logo at the base station. The hell is that for ASUS???

 

Base is bigger on the Acer.. sure. Clear space or get a bigger desk and BAM.

I'm pretty sure the major difference is the viewing angles. Personally, I have no clue why this matters, but I'm not sure if I've ever seen a TN panel so I shouldn't really be talking. As far as I'm concerned, you won't really be leaning around your monitor, so you will probably be fine with a TN panel.
