Hello,

I am looking to build my first gaming PC. I am currently gaming on a console and I want to build a gaming PC so I can play with my friends. I am located in western Canada and I have a budget of $700 CAD more or less. I want to build it by late April to early May and it will be used primarily for high end gaming (gta, rainbow six, gmod etc.) using High settings as well as light multitasking (youtube, school work, discord etc.). I do not need any peripherals as I have a headset, keyboard, mouse and so on. I have an HP 2159m monitor with a 1920 x 1080 resolution that works just fine and it will be the only monitor that I will use. I have a list of parts that seem to fit my requirements but I just want to be sure that this is ok and that there are no problems with it. If something isn't right or you have a suggestion then let me know. This is just a plan and I won't be buying anything for a while. Thank you.

CPU -  Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor (I would like to upgrade this to an i5 if possible but this will work for me too.) -  ($144.99 on Amazon)

GPU -  MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Video Card (this can be dropped to a 750ti for $20 less) - ($175.99 on Amazon)

RAM -  Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory - ($77.99 on Amazon)

Case -  Corsair 100R ATX Mid Tower Case  - ($55.98 on Direct Canada)

Power Supply -  Corsair CXM 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply - ($75.99 on Amazon)

WiFi adapter -  Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I PCI-Express x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter - ($49.99 on Memory Express)

Storage -  Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive - ($64.98 on Direct Canada)

Motherboard -  Gigabyte GA-H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard - ($65.98 on Direct Canada)

So I recommend this, also when you get this, take the motherboard to memory express and ask them for a BIOS upgrade for Kaby Lake CPUs. This is a better deal then a 6100. The 7100 is 5% faster which can help in the long run for gaming.

Well, it's not bad at all, it'll run the games you mentioned just fine, but maybe you should consider upgrading to the i3 7100 as it's not much more expensive, just a few dollars difference. The case is awesome, great choice, also, the 1050ti is great as well, nice little graphics card, at a nice price too (the exact same one goes for 170€ here in Portugal).

Quote me so I can reply back :)

Would going with such a low end motherboard be a good idea?

it's fine, h110 motherboards just have less features than other chipsets.
