I don't think so, he's only going to run the server which will only need processing power and ram, he should be fine

Yeah but I dont want any lag when loading lots of chunks, If you have a cheaper alternative that will get me good 24/7 performance please say so.

Im going to be installing ubuntu server which only takes about 5 gigs, and minecraft servers take like 500mb so I really dont.

To store plugins, player data, map data and the like you will need more than 25 gigs.

Paintball meet up KD 7(8?)/1 + one capture

Well if you look at my last post you can see the storage, and I have a CPU cooler already. For RAM I only need at MOST 100mb per player at full capacity, and I will upgrade to 32 GB later.

TNT will be banned in Creative, and nobody is going to make 100 blocks of TNT in factions. And if it is really necessary I will ban TNT. Also I will have an auto server restart every hour, and I am looking into a auto restart of the actual computer every 6 hours.

Really? My friend has a server with an average of 200 players on at all times, a factions world, with lots of minigames and it only takes about 11GBs

If you want backups and such I suggest at least a 1 tb raid config so people don't get upset also more cooling is needed and I feel ram should be fine if allocated properly.
