Hello,

I have often wondered on my older systems why Windows update would find a update to a driver (ex intel lan ) but if when checking the manufacturer website no update exists according to the intel auto update program.  So my questions is why is Windows Update saying an update exists when the manufacturer's own update program is not?

Windows Drivers != Intel Drivers

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Microsoft hunts them from manufacturers or manufacturers submit drivers for update system. With older versions of Windows, best practice was NOT to use whatever update was trying to offer. With 10 its better.
