I am running 9 fans in the phanteks evolv atx glass case with maximus ix formula mobo. Not sure what to connect to case headers, or if i should be using case fan headers at all. I've read I could also purchase molex adapters and connect straight to psu? Just looking for some helpful tips since research hasn't gotten me anywhere this time. Thanks!

why do you even need 9 (!!!!) fans?

I probably take the best 3 for the case, 2 in the front, 1 in the back and take the rest out of the system.

Most times the motherboard fan headers are the best bet for controling fans.

nobody needs 9 fans! lol purely aesthetics, i wanted to experiment and have more of an enthusiast build this time around. and yeah if i only had a few fans i'd just use the mobo headers. but now I'm not sure if I need to buy splitters, molex adapters, plug straight into psu? all things I've read about but no idea what my approach should be

What fans are you trying to control?

A 4pin pwm splitter or hub to your cpu_fan header would probably be your best option.

Where are you shopping/located? Budget?

I actually just ended up using the 4 fan splitter on the kraken and the case header on the back and plugged it into h-amp on the mobo. only downside is there is no individual control of fan speed
