You know what would be interesting? What if you could have an NVIDIA card (for example because of ShadowPlay) and then have an AMD card to run TressFX and Mantle. If that could run at the same time and work together, that would be awesome. xD Not realistic, but it would be awesome. Obviously that won't happen.

That would be interesting, but in the past nVidia has been very diligent about locking down their proprietary stuff, to the point where you can't actually use it if there is an AMD card in the system.

If a 2011 game can look that good, imagine what the next elder scrolls will manage! Between all the mods, ENB series, Gsync, Mantle, this tressfx grass, physx, the much more powerful GPUs we will have... I can hardly contain my excitement. The future is indeed looking bright.

I thought it is calculated on the CPU when you have an NVIDIA card. Anyways it is not optimized for using it with NVIDIA cards from what I have heard.

No it's DX11 DirectCompute based, so basically any DX11 graphics card would natively support it, it just so happens that AMD's GCN architecture has an incredible compute performance edge over Nvidia's Kepler & AMD's older VLIW4, that's mainly why it's faster on modern AMD graphics cards.

Hmm sounds interesting, and we will see it soon it seems.

But currently Mantle is the thing everyone waits. And in my opinion looking at the 780Ti results, games with Mantle will be 1-2frames slower than that. Which means up to ~20fps improvement on most games with some of the AMD GPU's.

Ok, thanks. I didn't know how does it work. I will still personally wait for something like a GTX 860 which should come next year. I'm good so far. I prefer frames over quality and I can run BF4 on low and DotA 2 even maxed out without AA (the only games I play at the moment) without any problem at around 100 fps while running them at my native resolution of 1080p.

This could be a good mix if games that support this, also support Mantle and make the perf hit even less

i have played 1 game with Nvidia PhysX with my AMD HD 7870, and Borderlands 2 has Horrible CPU PhysX support.  I hate the fact that CPU Physx with AMD GPUs sucks.  I am GLAD the way that AMD made the TressFX Physics the way they did, Compute based which is supported by BOTH AMD and Nvidia, so that both can use it.
