Do you own stock in other companies already?

Are you just looking to buy low and then sell high should they rise?

These are important before i provide any advice on your question.

Also regardless of your answers you need to be mindful that AMD isn't going to be the next Google or Apple with stupid high stock prices, at least not anytime soon.

Considering the current rumours are that Vega matches the GTX 1080, a year after it's release, and will still be smoked by NVIDIA, I would not be betting on Vega substantially altering AMD's stock prices.

And this comes from someone with an AMD GPU that generally likes the company.

If you wanted to buy some AMD stock, you should have done it 6-12 months ago, before the Ryzen release.

You could still buy stocks now, but you'll probably have to sit on them for at least 12-24 months before seeing a significant gain - and that's assuming their Vega launch is flawless, and the rest of the Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 launches go off without a hitch.

There might be a slight bump in their price but i doubt it will be substantial.  In order to make any money you'd have to purchase a large volume of shares in order to offset the actual cost of buying the stocks.
