OS Update can lead to have less points in benchmarks? Yes but in games you wont notice that but still your scenario is pretty extreme for that

you probably have loads services running the background

Could be a driver issue, or could be crap-ware on your computer slowing it down...

 

Best thing to do first is completely remove your nvidia drivers and install the latest ones....

 

Use drive sweeper to remover any remaining fragments of the old nvidia drivers before you do a clean install...
