Getting into PC builds

Hello everyone!

Yesterday, i got my old PC back from upgrading it, specs are:

- Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

- Asus P5LD2 SE Motherboard

- Intel Core 2 Duo E6420

- 4GB DDR2 RAM (3.37GB usable)

- 230 Watt PSU

- ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO gpu

unfortunately my rig has very weak gpu as you saw on the list, which has 256mb vram of gddr2...

I know its listed as "Ancient" video card, and i was wondering what gpu do you guys recommend? I'm definitely going to upgrade gpu and cpu in the future, same for PSU which is really weak as well, add 1 AF fan for intake on the side of the case and 1 SP fan on the back for exhaust.

Any suggestion is welcome! So feel free to reply your opinion! :D

Difficult to know whether that powersupply is stable and capable of a better GPU, and as far as i know that CPU might be a bottleneck if youre going with a decent card.

What kind of suggestion are you looking for?

Hes looking for a better GPU, I think the Core 2 Duo E6420 might be a bit of a bottle neck for anything fancy, hmmm.

honestly, I would save up and start from scratch. you aren't going to be able to upgrade the CPU much without upgrading the Motherboard and RAM anyway.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS GPU: AMD r680M / RX 6700S RAM: 16GB DDR5

I agree with you, honestly, my idea is to upgrade to the best C2D or C2Q with 1066Mhz FSB, which is max fsb my mobo can support. I don't need an too overpowered and pricey PC, just the one which is even with 7-8 year old hardware still capable of playing games from 2012-2013 on good gpu : )

Try the intel pentium g4560. It came out with the Kaby Lake, and is a really cheap, but good dual core CPU on a budget. Maybe look to pair it with a GPU, maybe like an RX 460-480 or something older but still good like the 960 or 970.

Weeell i'm not planning to get a better motherboard, instead i'll buy something like E7500 cpu, which is the most powerful one, just a bit weaker than e7600, with 1066Mhz fsb, for the gpu i think gtx 750 ti would be a good choice

I don't think you're going to make any upgrades until you switch out your PSU. Then you can look at getting a 1050 or a 460 to suit the rest of your system.
