As the title says;

My new RX-480 arrived and I installed it into my motherboard and launched through integrated graphics for the first time to install my display drivers before turning off the PC and booting through PCIe but before I could get close to that I was stopped at the display driver installer which said it could not continue for there was no AMD hardware installed. So I did the usual re-slotting, updating bios, and I did a fresh install of Windows 10 pro.

On the fresh install I did not install any intel display drivers, I immediately ran the AMD Display Installer. Same issue occurred. I then went to the bios to disable IGFX and shut down the PC then connected the monitor cable to the GPU and started it back up again. I was greeted with "no signal detected" and a follow black screen, I left it for 15mins to see if anything would happen but nothing.

The same happened with my old GPU, exactly the same as with the new GPU

So to summarize;

-reseatted GPU

-fresh install of Windows 10

-disabled IGFX in bios

-reset cmos

-Tried with old GPU, same ordeal

- Removed RAM + CMOS and waited 30mins then reinstalled it and booted up no change

-updated bios to f20

I have been at this for days and I cannot get around it. Any help will be appreciated

Thanks,

             Youssi

I doubled checked that as well. They are in the correct way and fitted correctly, I also tried both PCIe cables I got with my PSU but to no avail.

Yeah there is 1 just infront of the clip for the PCIe power cables; It lights up just when there is power going to the card.

Okay so the RX 480 is receiving power. I believe you might have a faulty card. Sorry. Best thing to do is to test it in a different system.

Would there be a way to test that out differently ? Unfortunately I don't have another PC to test it out on.

I don't think so. Sorry. Is the card slotted into the PCIE x16 slot tightly?

I was pushing it on pretty firmly, it never gave me a loud click like my RAM sticks would. I was a bit scared if I pushed any harder on it , I would break it.

No clicks required. I can't think of anything else other than it is faulty. Sorry.
