Card issues

Hello,

 

After just a couple months of using my graphics card (GTX 1060 x 3G from MSI) something really weird happened, i started up a game and while it was on the loading screen, one of the fans started spinning really fast and smoke came out of the case.. sounded like an engine starting up!

 

is it worth paying for shipping all over again to get it fixed (go it from a neighboring country) or should i just buy a 1050ti or 1070 card?

how much is the shipping ? as that sounds like textbook fault which can be RMA'ed

Yeah  as UMxMarky said, you should be able to RMA the card.

about 65 for the export, not sure how much it will cost for bringing it back

you can always ask the manufacturer or retailer as they might cover the shipping cost. (IIRC amazon do if it a faulty product)

i contacted the place i bought it from and they said " Please send us the graphics card to the address below and we will process the warranty claim." which doesn't really sound inviting tbh

i sent them an email about it but no reply till now
