First you need to have at least two audio outputs on the PC. I'm assuming you're connecting to the TV via HDMI.  Second your apps need to have a way to redirect its audio to one of the outputs on the PC. The video player has the highest likelihood of this. Most apps will use the default output with no way of switching to another one.

I'm going to go with the idea the video player can redirect its audio. It would route its audio to the HDMI port. The default output then would be the headphone jack so all the other apps go out of that.

lets see if memory working

first hdmi i assume is tv will be a mirror of aud jack on pc

so if your not wanting headset you may make the microphone jack into an aud out jack

should be in the windows sound manager an option to do this

but as far as assigning specific sources to which display i only ever found articles that used registry changes

and the registry and me are not friends

i change and windows give me middle finger

so i learned stay away

but if you or friend know what your doing thats where binding will occur

yea i have my tv connected via hdmi and i have my headphones plugged in my computer. Usually what i do is just open the game alt tab then switch sound source then open my media player/browser but i was hopping for an easier way to do it like an app that lets me assign which output a specific opened application goes through. Basically something more powerful than a volume mixer
