Hello LMG community!

Could you give me any suggestions for a, not too expensive, power supply?

-gpu:MSI Radeon RX 480 DirectX 12 RX 480 GAMING X 4G 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support ATX Video Card

-motherboard:ASUS PRIME B250-PLUS LGA 1151 Intel B250 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Motherboards - Intel

-cpu:Intel BX80677I57500 7th Gen Core Desktop Processors

Do I need a 500W psu for the RX 480?

Thanks for the help!

No, you need a good quality PSU, the wattage is rather irrelevant!

A good quality 350W unit is preferable over a not so high quality 500W unit.

Where are you from? What's available?

And remember:
A good quality PSU can enhance the life of your computer.

Get something like a Antec HCG-520m or a 620m. I have the 620 and its works like mint. Its modular and I got mine for $150 aud which is cheap for a modular and has continuous wattage which is a must for psu's.

The HCG-520m (520watts) should give you some headroom for crossfire if your board supports it and around 500 watts is the optimal point for gaming anyway just incase you feel like overclocking your gpu.

oh dear....

Why, oh why, do you still recommend that old S12II based, group regulated unit when there are soo much better units out there?!

That is just shit, especially for 150$ - coudn't you get a  Super Flower Leadex based unit?
