Hi, I've been thinking about building a new computer, but my knowledge is very limited!

"Used template from somewhere else"

  • Budget: 4.5k CAN$
  • More specific use (what games, what programs): OBS, WoW, BF, Any new game in ultra
  • Planned time until purchase: now-3months
  • Do you need an Operating System?: Yes if a good deal
  • Do you have any specific preferred components?: GTX 1080 (TI?), some kind of SSD (400Go+)
  • Do you need a sound or wireless card?: sound card
  • Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Give me some advice here please
  • Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: Could use some advice for a good 144hz monitor with a good quality/money ratio
  • Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): Canada H1Y 3G6
  •
  • What are your preferences in case style? (lights, flashy, dull, etc): Blue light, easy to maintain inside
  • Are you planning to use multiple monitors? 3
  • Are you looking for upgrade-ability? Yes
  • Do you have any preferred brands? Intel, NVIDIA
  • Can you reuse any components from an older build? Not really
  • Is there anything else you think we should know? I'm the kind of dude that do many things at the same time. I hate if something is slow. I often watch stream while playing games (stream + game must be smooth). I also usually never close my computer.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Drop that second 1080 Ti if you don't feel needed. Price were approximate for them because at launch it supposed to be 699 USD which is around~930 CAD

I would drop the second 1080ti, get a second samsung evo for raid0, and then add in 2 side monitors.

Keep in mind my knowledge is very limited, but would the CPU be fine to record high quality, stream 1080 and play in ultra what ever game I'm playing?

This may be better for streaming, its the same as Dexxterlab's but with a 6 core CPU.

What about the compatibility check? Also, does raid0 really make that big of a difference even with ssd?

For gaming not much. I suppose you can do Raid

X62 will keep the temps low while overclocking

Any idea when gtx 1080 ti should be available in canada?

Release is supposed to be today. I would expect availability by the end of the month.

This is a bit of a flashy build. Lots of power for gaming. No need for a sound card in modern gaming systems. The motherboard provides generally excellent sound.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Since you mentioned OS for a good deal, you can get a legit, legal copy of Windows 10 pro off of kinguin.net for about $35 (not sure what that is in CAD).
