Seting up 3 monitors using 2 cards

Hello all
I just installed a second graphics card and when I plug a monitor to my second graphics card nothing happens. The screen just goes black...

 

I have no idea what to do

Graphics cards Nvidia gforce GTX 970FTW+
I have 2 of them

 

Please help

Did you enable Nvidia surround? Did you have SLI bridge (not sure if needed)?

Yes I do have sli bridge. No I did not enable surround. Also Idk if this has anything to do with anything but i do have my motherboards graphics card enabled in bios that's what I have my 3rd screen plugged in to now.

I think i've found the problem, both monitors have to be plugged into the same video card

why wouldnt you be able to plug in a monitor to the second card ? that makes no sense ?!!

it might be because one of the cards is a master card and one is a slave card. the master one handles the outputs and the slave one just do stuff the master one tells it to do? dont quote me on that but thats one of the reasons it might be

In sli, they all need to be plugged into the same card.

With surround they may have to be split between the cards. I always do 2 in one the last card gets one. Did this with all of my titans and my 980's.

Did it work when you connected the monitors to the same GPU?
