Cpu and Mobo switch

Hello everyone,

This probably souds strange but we have 2 pc one from my father and one from my mother but my fathers one has a bad cpu and a good gpu and my mothers pc the other way around. I and my father thought why don't we take the good cpu and do that one by the good gpu and the bad cpu by the bay gpu becaus my mother don't need more and my father and i want to game. But my father thinks that windows checks the mobo to check the pc so he thinks we can't switch the cpu and mobo becaus he don't want to re install windows. So my question is can you switch your cpu and mobo without having to re install windows.

 

(sorry if my english is bad i'm not from a english speaking land.)

just swap the GPUs?

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

I've done it with windows 10 but really its better to preinstall
