Just getting in to racing games on the PC

So I've been a long time PC gamer for a while now but I've been mainly in to FPS since this year both of the two major fps sort flopped for me, I been looking at racing games I always loved forza on the xbox and I am looking for something with the same fun level on PC  is there anything out there ? 

I have a Logitech G27 from my brother who used it for PS3. So I do have the wheel to take on the racing games. I am a basic racer and will upgrade my equipment once I get back in to it.

Grid 2 is pretty good, graphics are good and the courses are fun, IMO.

check out the DIRT series, I quite liked those

NFS Shift 2, either of the GRID series games, any of the Codemasters titles (F1, Dirt, avoid Dirt Showdown if possible). Short of getting into the heavy sim stuff like iRacing, those are your best bets (fun fact, Shift 2 is one of the most demanding racing games to date short of Project CARS, but the latter is closed to the public so...)
