So nooby question and I am looking for some peace of mind. I am testing out my 7700k and I curious about my temps.

I come from an i5 that ran just a basic MSI boost from there bios on an evo 212 cooler.

I have read that the 7700k run a bit on the warmer side.

I am using Handbrake encoding to test (maybe not the best test) ambient temp ares around 28 to 30 C

I installed the new kraken x52 AIO

I have an Asus z270e board and when i have the optimization set to normal bios, run an encode, temps go from ambient to 64 to 67 C

When I set the optimization to performance in the bios, then run an encode, temps go from ambient to 80 to 82 C almost instantly

i know that cpu temps going over 80 are not recommended, but is that safe? Could it be a voltage issue with the auto performance adjusting?

I have the kraken cooler set to performance mode but i never see the fan speed go above 50 percent or the pump rpm to go over 2200.... I am new to water cooling but I just figured the temps would be better than that... I have made sure i seated the cooler right. I even took it apart and reapplied thermal past to be 100% positive. Could it be the CAM software isn't very accurate?

Any insight is appreciated!!!

over 80 is safe but might be bit high for x52

Any tips for getting it down? I have disassembled and reassembled it to be sure it had it on correctly even reapplied thermal paste. I played with the pump speed manually but it didnt seem to change the results much.. Or is it something that I just deal with lol

Custom loop my friend, besides that, lower vcore, or lower clocks etc
