Cannot unmount iso file. Windows 10

Go to solution Solved by zMeul,

even after you reboot?!

the .iso should not auto remount with a fresh boot

Hello,

ive been trying to unmount some virtual drives because i accidently mounted a ubuntu iso image but when i unmount it wont go away. I cannot move the ubuntu iso image or delete it either.

Ive tried to uninstall in device manager but when i click scan for hardware changes they just come back. ive been looking for solution for a while now but im unable to find one.

Thanks

What program did you use to mount the ISOs? Most of the time there will be a background process running that is keeping the drives there. Ending the process will remove the drives.

Personally, I use Daemon Tools Lite, so ending Disc Soft Bus Service Lite removes the drives.

EDIT: If they're automounting on boot, there may be an application that's loading on startup that needs to be disabled.

he would've said so, I still need to ask

if the image auto remounts after a fresh boot, then someone (him) altered settings

This worked thanks! i usually never restart my computer or turn it off so this never came to me.

Why do people still use mounting softwares when Windows has it integrated since 8.1?

Because we don't like change. I've used Daemon Tools for ages and like it, so I've just kind of stuck with it.

I got really pissed with D-Tools when they took preorders some years back, for their new version - at the time it was sold as for life licence

then after launch they gave everyone only a 5y licence and told us to fuck off
