Amazon Ryzen Mobo Pre-Orders delayed??

I thankfully bought my 1800x from Newegg, which is on it's way to my house right now, but I have been seeing that Amazon ryzen prossecors Haven't even shipped!!

My main concern is that at the time that I was ordering you couldn't get the New Asus crosshair Mobo from Newegg so I pre ordered on Amazon.

And I checked my order status this morning and I see it saying that the (Delivery Date Is Pending)

Not sure if I'm jumping the gun or this is normal for Amazon pre orders but the last thing I want is to have to wait a week before I can actually use my new processor even though I pre ordered ryzen parts on day one.

If any one has any info on the matter or has the same thing going on I'd love to know.

damn that's a pitty, won't help ZEN at all as that will create bad press, and AMD needs all the good press possible at the moment, still it's only a week or 2 max till the middle, so I doubt it will cause a massive problem, but it's still a problem

Amazon orders usually won't show up as shipped until the evening before delivery, that's when they leave the fulfilment centre on the way to a local distribution station.

If you pre-order something, they can give you an estimate (days or weeks even), or an exact date when it will be delivered. You can check your order details which one is true for you.

If you contact their customer service they might be able to give you a closer estimate on when your product will be available.

Does you mum know you're here?

Amazon just updated my pre order for my 1800x (which was ordered during the AMD release presentation).. estimated delivery of March 7..and thats with one day shipping.  The motherboard is still "pending".  Amazon really f**ked us over. If I'd got with newegg I'd be playing BF1 by now...

that's so unfortunate. i just want to use my damn processor right now. it's sitting on my desk staring at me.... i decided to buy a b350 motherboard on newegg with one-day shipping. newegg has already shipped my motherboard.... amazon fucked up bad. and i hope someone there has to pay for it. pushing back a pre-order a week while other competitors have the product in the lap of their consumers day one is unacceptable. especially for such a huge company.

i haven't canceled my order on my Asus crosshair vi yet because it's still not available for any other reputable store. but damn is this launch just getting sadder and sadder thanks to amazon.

I believe so, yes. Caseking.de doesn't have the Aorus Gaming 5 I preordered in stock either, nor do they have an estimate of when it will be.

Didn't AMD say that at launch we can expect 80 differend motherboards? I can only find 31 motherboard on caseking.

And if you want to OC, you need to spend a lot on those motherboards. Was hoping to get decent motherboard with OC ability for around 120€.

At least you got that! Looks like I'd be stuck waiting anyways for my Corsair bracket which also has not shipped..but I could have at least gotten it setup and tested with an aircooler in the mean time.

Really? I expected better from Corsair... I already got my AM4 mounting kit from Phanteks on the 28th.

My Asus Crosshair VI Hero which I pre-ordered Feb 22nd has not shipped. Amazon is playing dumb with this one. Looks like it's also happening with the Nintendo Switch! Anywho, here's my tweet and transcript with Amazon customer service.

Hello,

Here's a copy of the chat transcript you requested:

Initial Question: I would like to know exactly when my item will be shipped. I pre-ordered the item February 22nd. The site clearly said it would ship March 2nd. I still have no tacking number. I have been hung up on by customer service. I've been told time and time again you simply don't have the item which is not an acceptable answer. Please provide me a tracking number for my order.

06:38 PM PST Ragesh(Amazon): Hello, my name is Ragesh. I'm here to help you today.
06:38 PM PST David Olivas: I hope so, thanks Ragesh
06:38 PM PST Ragesh: Let me connect you to a member of our specialist team. It will only take a moment.
06:38 PM PST David Olivas: ok
06:38 PM PST Naga Naveen(Amazon): Hello, my name is Naga Naveen. Please give me a moment to review the previous correspondence.
06:38 PM PST David Olivas: sure
06:39 PM PST Naga Naveen: Could you please help me with the order number David ?
06:39 PM PST David Olivas: sure, it is 106-5995685-1365805
the item in question is ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero AMD Ryzen AM4 DDR4 M.2 USB 3.1 ATX X370 Motherboard with AURA Sync RGB Lighting
06:41 PM PST Naga Naveen: I have checked with the order details David.
When an item is listed as "Temporarily out of stock. Order now and we'll deliver when available," this means the item is currently out of stock and we’re not sure when we’ll get more of this item. If you order one of these items, we'll do our best to get the item for you, and we'll send an e-mail as soon as we have more information.
Once the item is back in stock, we'll ship the item with Prime shipping - Two-Day Shipping for most items, or 4-5 day for items with special shipping characteristics.

06:41 PM PST David Olivas: Yes, that is the same copy paste answer I have received from everyone, not acceptable
06:42 PM PST David Olivas: I see that some people received their item, why did Amazon send pre-orders to only some customers?
I also have Prime, why did I not receive mine?
06:42 PM PST Naga Naveen: I can understand how frustrating this could be.
06:44 PM PST Naga Naveen: The item ships on first come first serve David. It will start shipping to the customers who have placed order first.
06:44 PM PST David Olivas: I pre-ordered the item the day it became available, how it that not first come?
this is unacceptable!
I'd like to know please when my item will be shipped. When will you receive it from the manufacturer?
06:46 PM PST Naga Naveen: We are expecting a new stock shortly. We will email you with the update on the order
06:46 PM PST David Olivas: that is not a date
06:47 PM PST David Olivas: Please look into this urgently and escalate to a supervisor
06:48 PM PST Naga Naveen: I have already sent a request to the inventory and shipping team on this with a high priority. So that once the new stock is, it will ship to you and you will receive your product at the earliest.
Please do not worry.
I have also escalated this to my leadership team

06:49 PM PST David Olivas: May I ask what is my ticket number for this. I'm tired of having to explain it over and over again
06:49 PM PST Naga Naveen: Unfortunately, we dont have a ticket number for this. This is something which happens internally. However, you will be updated on the order soon
06:50 PM PST David Olivas: That does not give me much confidence. Surely there is some type of reference id for the record of this call
06:51 PM PST Naga Naveen: I can understand your concern David. I have created a follow up on this personally, I will get back to you within 24 hours on this. You have my word.

Oh yes, I'm largely in the same boat. I do already have the cooler mounting kit from Phanteks as I mentioned, but I'm still waiting for an estimate on when my 1800X and Aorus Gaming 5 will be shipped...

Bearing in mind I took the risk to preorder both of them and am still waiting, while there are people right now who can just walk into shops and come away with a Ryzen chip and AM4 motherboard, I'm not necessarily too ecstatic about the whole situation, but hey, what can you do?

This makes me happy I drove the 50 miles on launch day and purchased on in store of the 3 they received.  For all you AM4 bracket guys, make sure you read up on the issues with warping the boards and causing failed boots if you're using the ASUS ROG boards.

SStill nothing from amazon...and I cant cancel my order as I already have the CPU portion of the "bundle" with the asus x370..even though the prices are regular full msrp for both, and i was charged for just the processor.  I again tried to explain the concept of "bundle" and "pre order" meaning they were both in stock and together..but amazon does not appear to operate with any common sense.

Lesson learned. amazon pre-order doesnt mean you are guaranteed a part of their alotment...its just a way to lock you into buying from them instead of another retailer.

Evanair. Thanks for the heads up! I have a pre-ordered Crosshair VI Hero with amazon. Since preordering I have been hearing about people with bricked mobos and memory. I haven't been able to find nail down what exactly the issue is. Some are saying it's a BIOS issue and others are saying it's a voltage issue but I haven't been able to find anything official or concrete. Where did you get your information from about these failed boots and warping the boards???

Also, if you can help, is this simply an issue that I can wait out for Asus to fix with an update or is this a hardware issue for which I should just different board?

I cannot remember which Forum I read it on nor find it via google atm.  I remember it being 3rd Party manufactures (specifically water block issues) from too much pressure causing the board to warp.  IIRC (and this is what I use on that board) the solution to not bricking your board was using a standard AMD back-plate (aka plastic) and the issue will be avoided.  I took off the metal one of mine and used the AM3 plastic one I had  as Hero supports both AM3 and AM4 (mainly because the H100 GTX I have isn't compatible till corsair sends me the bracket, which I won't be using now) and I can see warpage on both the board AND the back-plate form pressure, but most of it is on the plastic now rather than a metal plate.

Currently, I have updated BIOS (not BETA thankfully) from launch using the tool within Windows itself rather than the update within the BIOS.  Memory is working fine and so is my OC.
