Hi guys,

Recently a friend of mine and me decided to build a server for a cheap price, we didnt care if the hardware was old so we decied to build a quad cpu with amd (socket F1207). The motherboard is a supermicro motherboard with 4 CPUs (no its not overkill :)))) and has molex gbx cables. The problem is we dont have enough server knowledge to power the thing with gbx connectors etc.

So how do we power the machine, what do we have to do ?

Thanks,

MoBo

A blade server is designed to be inserted into a blade server chassis which provides power and data, and it is not designed to run standalone by itself

So i have to get one of those trays that "plug" into a blade server?

You need to get a blade chassis like an IBM BladeCenter pictured below, and probably the trays too for it to work properly

MAKE SURE you get the correct BladeCenter for your particular board
