Hey,

I have this issue with my pc where I press the power button and the pc starts and a second later it restarts with the fans kicking in at higher speeds, as they always do when I reset my pc. This happened after I updated my BIOS and now when I try to downgrade, the mobo says that the file is not a proper bios.

The double restart happens because I am overclockin my CPU. I have overclocked it the same way on the old bios and it worked. I will contact ASUS so they will help me flash back to the old bios.

I had a similar issue not that long ago, where the PC would boot and then it would reboot once or twice, until it got to Windows's Automatic Recovery. If I was lucky it would boot into windows after a few tries, once in Windows system was 100% stable too, only booting was an issue.

After I lowered my overclock, which was stable for 5+ years, my PC booted just fine without any issue. I'm too lazy to find a new stable overclock so I'm leaving slightly above stock speed now.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Bazzite

Asus VIII Hero with BIOS 3201. Previous BIOS was 2202.

That's interesting, I was looking at 3201 today.  I've been running an earlier bios, 2012 I think, it's almost perfect but when I overclock it does do a double boot - at least when I first change to a custom OC profile, you saying 2202 doesn't do that?  cuz that would be worth risking the upgrade... maybe- you'll lose your hard earned profiles right?  There are also 5 or 6 more BIOS versions between those and the latest one... lots of choices :(

What's the point of all of these BIOS versions?  If I'm rock solid and booting in 15 seconds, why would I want to change it?  I mean if it's a compatibility issue ok, I get it.  But the latest four are all "improve system stability".. wth is that, as I said I'm rock solid, so what more stability is there?
