Galaxy A5 2017 or Asus Zenfone 3?

where i live the Zenfone 3 5.2" is priced similar to the new A5 and from what I've seen performance is near identical on both,so who do you think offers better features and is the overall better phone?

Also has the Zenfone 3 been updated to nougat and if not any news about when?

Budget Samsung's and the Zenfone line is terrible (and since you're looking for software updates, it's almost non-existent from Asus)

 

(A7 and A5, isn't THAT bad)

How much does the Zenfone 3 Zoom cost where you live? Might be a worthy contender.

Otherwise the Samsung is better in some areas, Asus in others.

• Asus has better autofocus, but the Samsung might take better pictures
• Samsung gets significantly better battery life, but they're both good
• Samsung is waterproof
• Asus has Nougat
• Asus can be had in 64GB/4GB
• Samsung has fast charge
• Samsung will have better outdoor visibility in sunlight

an overall balanced phone,other closely priced devices in my region are the xperia z5,huawei nova plus and galaxy c7 (although i'm trying to avoid devices 5.5" and over)

the zoom is 150$ more expensive here,are you sure about Asus getting nougat because i read they stopped the update shortly after launching it due to bugs on jan/19.

What's you're budget for a new phone??

I agree about the budget Samsungs,but why are the Zenfones bad besides zenUI and updates? every review I watch\read shower it with praise,even smaller channels who usually don't have a motive to praise a product and are usually nitpicky.

the prices where i live differ from the international so i'll tell you which devices are offered here for a close to or lower price:

HTC: one A9,one M9 plus.

Samsung: C7,C9.

Huawei: Nova plus,P9 lite.

Sony: Xperia Z5,Z5 compact,Z3+.

and the Redmi note 3 3gb\32gb.
