I have an rx 480 and earlier i posted about having low csgo performance for my card. It was brought to my attention that this could be because my card is defective. I noticed that when I first got my card which keep in mind was a factory oc card I tried to overclock it a little higher but it didn't go close to what other people have gotten i was only able to get 1380mhz base clock and 1900 vram overclock and overvolting didn't seem to help stability. I was wondering if anyone could confirm or deny that the card is defective. I have done some more benchmarks but were not able to find cores for them online if anyone can help that would be appreciated.

Unigine Heaven Extreme preset 1900x900 Score: 1632

Here are my cpu and gpu usages during csgo:

EDIT: forgot to mention csgo is only running at 70fps with big frame drops

Csgo is a cpu dependant game. The cpu might me the cause. Also the hard is not defective, you just got unlucky or the card is already pushed to its limit

the overclockabiliy of this card is not the problem the problem is that it should be doing upwards of 200 fps in csgo(i know at that point the cpu would be bottle necking it but now it isn't)

What are your temps on your CPU? someone with the same CPU with a 970 which is basically on par had the same problem here https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/839715/gtx-970-underperforming/

They never got back to the thread though so I don't know what the problem was but this might be good reference.

I cant even get upwards to 200 fps on csgo with a 8350 at 4.5 with a 780ti. Screen shot your video settings, and also are all driver up to date. Have you used Display Driver Uninstaller to remove any old drivers before installing a fresh driver. Are you checking your fps on a 16 player deathmatch or a mm game?

im playing on arms race there i am using the most up to date drivers and csgo video setting don't matter that much for some reason there is virtually no fps change but i was on high for everything.

Are your settings on auto? There is a noticeable difference with antialiasing shaders and antistropical filtering. Also is multicore rendering on? What kind of frame rates are you getting? Csgo runs terrible for alot of people just cause of how maps are these days

There's your problem multicore is off and you're playing at fullscreen windows which also lowers your performance a bit also has input lag and locks your refresh rate down to 60 for some reason. if you're still having issues I suggest overclocking that cpu to squeeze a bit more performance out of it for the game. Iv had a friend with a i7 875k get a 800mhz overclock and get 250fps on there 970 which is pretty much equal to a 480. 100+fps boost from there 120 average before.

should get 200+ fps with rx 480 I have looked at multiple benchmarks that said that

where do I put launch options

Steam>library right click csgo. Launch options copy paste -high -threads 4. Try 2 as well. Also if you had csgo installed for a long time. A reinstall deleting the folder but backing up any config.cfg and autoexec.cfg files might help. But I am still convinced its the cpu

Try turning everything off or low except multicore rendering and use something thats consistant to benchmark https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=500334237

average fps of 92.89 with everything off except multicore rendering and I was only using 60% cpu

did more testing the cpu was still only at about 80% usage and the average fps was always around 100-110. gpu usage just is getting worse and there is almost no difference when lowering video settings. also I tried underclocking to base rx 480 speeds and the unigine heaven score was about 1570. and the gpu usage was a solid 100% the entire time.

haven't checked but it doesn't sound like my fan is that high

The 860k comes with a "quiet" cooler and I would guess it sacrifices performance for acoustics based on this.
