Hey guys,

So I have a semi-decent computer and recently I've been playing games to which they start to drop FPS insanely and cause stuttering. No matter how low the graphic settings are the game will still stutter.

I started to play the Wildlands Beta and opened up CPU-z which I noticed my CPU was doing 100.01Mhz but my voltage was going from 1.1x to 1.076 during the stutters. I'm unsure if this is the main reason but I tried my graphics card on my brother's system which was perfectly fine with no stutters, but his GPU in my system was the same result of stutters, I've also tried a friend Memory which was 2400Mhz and even underclocking to 1600Mhz was the same.

My CPU is a new CPU and I tested with a friends memory which yielded the same results.
My specs are:

Intel Core i7 4790k (stock 4.00 clocks)
Club 3D R9 290X 4GB
Corsair 750M PSU
16GB DDR3 1866 memory

I was wondering if there were any alternatives as to fixing this as I want to try everything before spending money on a new PSU.
Thanks for any help.

Huh. Never occurred to even check that, I'll give that a try. Thanks :D

Try a driver reinstall.

It's a clean install (if you're referring to GPU)

Stable. Staying at around 70-80% when playing Siege on the default optimized settings.

ok bro hear me out i GIVE YOU 95% guarantee that if you fallow my guide line you will fix this issue

- download msi after burner and increase the power limit of your gpu to the maximum ( this is totally safe )

- try playing the games that are stuttering from and SSD (hdd can cause mini game stutters that are really annoying i can 100% confirm this)

- make sure that your power cable and the 24pin cable are plugged all the way

- clock down your ram memory speed to stock deafault

- disable xbox game dvr (i can vouch for this to cause stuttering in game)

- (VERY IMPRTANT) disable gpu acceleration in google chrome or other internet browser and when you do that make sure to restart your pc go into the bios and load the motherboard deafaults

ok bro do this and please report back with your results, i have a very similar config to yours an 4790k and 280x and i had stuttering issues on my own that were really annoying and i was pulling my hair out of my head i ended up reading dozens of threads and i also used my common sense and after i did all these things the stuttering went away

Will do, although I have a 120GB SSD which is in-use with my OS and doesn't have room for any of the games, I'll try in my 7200 HDD I bought yesterday :D

Yeah, I did this. Got an 850W Corsair. Thanks for the support though, quicker than Tomshardware which has been up like 3-4 days and no replies but 50+ views :/
