New Mobo and CPU

Hey all, I have been thinking about upgrading my cpu sometime soon from my current LGA1156 intel core i5 760. Upon doing some research I realized that it probably wouldn't be worth it to upgrade to another lynnfield chip so I was wondering what the best bang for my buck motherboard and cpu combo I could get would be.

Would it be worth the money to get a skylake/kaby lake cpu?

The new AMD chips actually have a lower TDP than intels... Meaning less heat.
