I have a pi2, I think I got to 1100mhz with a small Intel fan (i386 era)

the fan was only to reassure me that the Pi won't explode lol

i should overclock my rPI B+ lol. anyway the rPI3 tends to get really freaking hot from what i know so used some cooling atleast and watch the temps

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

temps are largely not a problem, SOCs in phones can run pretty hot without any problems.

though cooler is always better.

i just remember something about the rPI3 beeing a pretty hot chip, and phones use the case as cooling too

plastic isn't that great of a heat sink ;) if it were my pi I would overclock the balls off it. I once turned off all the thermal protection on my htc one x, overclocked it to 1.8 GHZ and put it in a fridge.

it was sitting at 98c 2c before thermal cut out. Antutu scores were beastly though lol
