SSD for OS and HDDs for Games

TheTurtleKing

Hello, I currently have:

1x 2tb HDD (currently partitioned in half but I'm going to try and fix that later)

1x 500gb HDD

Right now I was wondering if it would be beneficial to move all my games to the HDD and run my OS on an 120ish gb SSD to have a performance boost.

Would this hypothesis be theoretically correct?

Am I just wasting my time?

What should I do in my situation to get the most of out my HDDs and ssd?

I would get a 250gb SSD if you can. so you can fit more frequently-used programs and the OS. plus a game or two you play the most.

all other stuff can be stored in your HDD.

Say I stored everything except for the OS on the HDD.

Would I be getting a performance boost regardless?

wait what

if you don't store the OS on your SSD, that kind of defeats the point

sure, games and stuff will load faster, but the OS will still be slow since it's on a hard drive

yeah, I think that works

I use steam mover personally, as it simplifies a bit

oh if you're transferring everything, cut and paste is better
