It depends, some are made from aluminium while some are plastic. MX300 is plastic, and I speak from experience.

MX300 is top of the line, eh? The reason is my friend. Going to Gobi desert and want to buy a rigid SSD. What about Samsung?

Crucial just mailed me that their MX300 case is made from aluminium alloy. What about your experience @G27Racer_188?

Really? Than my hands have lost sense of touch, as it didn't feel very metallic under them. At the end of the day it is an alloy, which means it is mixed with some other materials so that's probably why id doesn't feel very metallic to me, and it is very light weight.

Some alloys seems plasticky sometimes while some plastic give the same feel of metal. It is a trick thing, alloy. You can't assume it's properties. :| Think HP pavilion x360. Grand plastic body. Seems like an alloy.
