So, Ryzen is out. But, with that also came specs. And it looks like Ryzen is using an AM4 socket, completely different from the Kabylake and Skylake CPU's. That means new motherboards. So, with that, does anyone have any recommendations for good AM4 socket motherboards?

Like everyone has been saying, wait for March 2nd. That is the launch date and that is when 84+ motherboards will be for sale. Right now we have like 21 or so.

Yeah sorry, I wish I could just list a few right off the bat but we don't know what the whole lineup will look like. So I mean you can risk it and pre-order a board you like on Newegg, but there's a chance better and more affordable ones will be released.

GPU: XFX RX 7900 XTX

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D

Choices seem to be between 370 and 350 boards for AM4. 370 is for "Enthusiast" while I have seen 350 boards as low as $60-70 and are more basic.

I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself

Yeah, I'm not gonna take my chances with preordering

I have plenty of recommendations for "good" AM4 motherboards: MSI X370 Titanium, Gigabyte Aorus X370 Gaming 5 and ASUS Republic of Gamers Crosshair VI Hero, just to name some of them. Question is whether you're willing to pay at or over €250 for a motherboard... If you don't, then I'd definitely wait to see what the full lineup of more reasonably priced boards will look like, and which of them best fits your needs.

Main Rig "Melanie" (click!) -- AMD Ryzen7 1800X • Gigabyte Aorus X370-Gaming 5 • 3x G.SKILL TridentZ 3200 8GB • Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming • Corsair RM750x • Phanteks Enthoo Pro --

HTPC "Keira" -- AMD Sempron 2650 • MSI AM1I • 2x Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 1866 8GB • ASUS ENGTX 560Ti • Corsair SF450 • Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV Shift --

Laptop "Abbey" -- AMD E-350 • HP 646982-001 • 1x Samsung DDR3 1333 4GB • AMD Radeon HD 6310 • HP MU06 Notebook Battery • HP 635 case --

$313 (US) for a mobo? I'm good...

You do have to bear the tax differences in mind (the VAT rate being 21% in most European countries), so in reality I believe the price point I mentioned is quite a bit lower than $313 US.

True. But still, I was planning on paying about $150 US for one

edit: wait, after factoring taxes, the price you mentioned is about $200 US. Not too shabby
